KILLERS OF DESTINY ( Episode 2)
2. IGNORANCE ( SPIRITUAL IGNORANCE )
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” — Hosea 4:6
Ignorance is one of the silent killers of destiny. Ignorance does not necessarily mean that you are uneducated. You can be highly educated, hold degrees, occupy a great position, and still be ignorant in certain important matters of life.
Spiritual ignorance is lack of understanding and knowledge concerning spiritual matters and how the spiritual realm operates.
“Psalms 49:20 (NKJV) A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, Is like the beasts that perish.”
Ignorance means you may have knowledge in your profession but lack knowledge concerning spiritual warfare, prayer, discernment, or the principles of the Kingdom. And what you do not understand can become a point of vulnerability in your life.
You can be a graduate and still lack understanding of how to engage in spiritual warfare. You can be a manager, a businessperson, a politician, or a person of great influence, yet fail to recognize the spiritual dimensions of the battles surrounding your destiny.
Your position in the natural does not automatically translate into authority in the spiritual realm.
If you are a boss in an organisation and your junior ( e.g a cleaner) has a higher rank than you in the spiritual realm, they can easily overpower or destroy you, even if you are their boss in the physical realm.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32
What you know can determine how you respond to life’s battles. What you do not know can leave you vulnerable.
HOW IGNORANCE KILLS DESTINY
1. IGNORANCE BLINDS YOU TO YOUR PURPOSE
When you lack understanding, you may pursue the wrong vision, the wrong goal, or even the wrong assignment. You can spend years pursuing something God never called you to do simply because you lack the knowledge to discern your purpose.
2. IGNORANCE CAUSES WRONG DECISIONS
Lack of knowledge produces poor judgment. You may make decisions that appear harmless today but carry consequences that negatively affect your future and destiny.
3. IGNORANCE MAKES YOU VULNERABLE TO DECEPTION
A person without knowledge can easily be misled. Satan takes advantage of ignorance through deception, false beliefs, wrong counsel, and spiritual confusion.
4. IGNORANCE LIMITS YOUR GROWTH
Your level of knowledge determines your level of success, it determines how high you will rise in life.The more you understand God’s Word, your purpose, spiritual principles, and how to navigate life’s challenges, the better equipped you become to fulfill your destiny.
You cannot fight what you do not understand.
Therefore, don’t only pursue academic knowledge—pursue spiritual understanding too. Study the Word of God. Grow in prayer. Seek godly counsel and Develop spiritual discernment.
Your destiny is too precious to be destroyed by what you could have known.
I pray for you, may God deliver you from every form of ignorance that can hinder your destiny in Jesus’ name, Amen.
